Staff Appreciation Week is THIS WEEK!

It’s the time of the year when we celebrate the teachers, IAs, and staff at our school. They work hard every day, so let’s show them some love! Pick a day or two, or all! A packet with flowers to color, staff list and more came home with your child last week, but you can also find it in the Printable Forms menu on our website.

Monday – Door Decorating

Classroom and staff office doors will be decorated with the flowers attached to this packet. Please color and cut them out and then on Monday morning you can stick them on the doors for your teachers. Allergy free flowers for everyone!

Tuesday – Notes for Teachers

Write notes of thanks, sweet poems, or darling pictures to special staff members, and deliver them to the colorful paint buckets outside each teacher’s classroom; all other staff will have buckets in the office.

Contribute to Gift Baskets for Teacher Appreciation

Staff Appreciation week is coming May  6-10. In respect to allergies, we have decided to make gift baskets for the teachers instead of bouquets. So, instead of asking you all to bring flowers to school one day during that week, we are asking that you bring items on this teacher requested list to Staff Appreciation Chair Stacy Burlin’s house by May 3.
Sharpened pencils
Mechanical pencils (for the teacher, not students)
Uniball vision elite pens (for the teacher, not students)
Colorful 3 x 3 sticky notes
Assortment of teas
Glue sticks
Gift cards to book stores, office supply stores, craft stores, Starbucks, etc.
Disinfectant wipes
White board markers – in many different, fun colors
Crayola colored pencils
Fine point black sharpies
Please label which teacher your items are for. We will assemble the baskets. Thank you for showing the staff some love!

Staff Appreciation Week Is Coming Up

We can still use some volunteers for our Staff Appreciation week. I hope you will consider joining us on one of the days below. Time commitment is extremely minimal – usually less than two hours!

If you can help, please contact the coordinator listed on your desired day.

Here are the planned events so far, these may change:

Monday – coffee/juice/smoothie bar (7:00-8:30 am)

Tuesday – Floral Bouquets (8:00-9:30 am)

Wednesday – Lunch On Us, Taco Salad– hosted by grades 4/5

Thursday – Notes for Staff (time will vary according to when the buckets are dropped off and picked up)

  • Coordinator still needed
  • Volunteers still needed – 3

Friday – Day of Pampering – massages (set up at 10:00, clean up at 2:00)

This has always been a group effort so any participation level is welcomed and needed!

Attention 1st and 2nd Grade Families!

Throughout the school year, the PTSO sponsors several Staff Luncheons for the dedicated and hard working staff at Sunset. Each luncheon is hosted by two grades, and families sign up to bring a dish, supplies, or help with set up and take down.

The first Staff Luncheon of the school year is Tuesday, October 11th  and will be hosted by the 1st and 2nd Grade families.

We need your help to make this day special!

The theme for the luncheon Fall Harvest, which will include chili, corn bread and other treats. Please sign up to help by clicking here.

Thank you!
