Please join us on October 3rd for our next PTSO meeting. We’ll meet in the library from 6;30-7:30. Babysitting will be available so we hope to see you there!
Welcome back, all! Two items for your radars in the next couple of weeks:
#!1 – SPIRIT WEAR We rolled out new Spirit Wear last winter and are placing another bulk order in September. Time to get yours! Maybe you didn’t buy any last year, or your kid’s grown out of it, or you are new to Sunset and want to show your Sunset pride! We have fun stuff with an awesome logo designed by Sunset parent Amanda Hefeneader.
The PTSO uses this bulk order as fundraiser, as we get a percentage back from the total sales. You can order spirit wear online at any time during the year, but please consider purchasing before Sept 17 to support the PTSO!
Options to purchase for the bulk order DUE ON SEPT 17:
-Print out the form below and turn in your order to school with cash or check.
-This week, a hard copy will come home from school (but let’s be honest…sometimes those get “lost” between school to backpacks to home!) …or print this one out and turn it in.
-Order online at www.kadmark.com/sunset. Orders placed by Sept 17th will be included in the bulk order sales and delivered with the bulk order.
Kadmark will make all our stuff and we will organize and distribute it at school to studuents to bring home a few weeks after the order is placed.
Questions? Email email@example.com.
#2 – BACK TO SCHOOL BBQ
See the flier below for all the info you need! You can bring your own food or buy meals there – menu and prices on the form. Pay ahead and don’t worry about it! Bring picnic blankets or lawn chairs for the field, and we will also have some bigger communal tables on the blacktop.
*Please note we are suggesting a $1/person donation prepay or at the event to offset costs of the face painting, balloon animals, and inflatables!
Also – volunteering at this event is a great way to help out AND meet a lot of new people. See the opportunities below!
Hard to believe it’s almost that time, but we are less than a month until the start of the 2018-2019 school year! Many of you may be starting to think about school supplies, and the lists are up on the Sunset Primary website at https://www.wlwv.k12.or.us/cms/lib/OR01001812/Centricity/Domain/17/Sunset%20School%20Supply%20List.pdf
The PTSO wanted to pass along a couple of ideas for your shopping! First, TeacherLists.com has the updated 2018-2019 supply lists for each grade. You can search for Sunset Primary and it will automatically fill your cart at Target, Amazon, Walmart with the school supplies – then you can edit from there if you need more/less of something. (Bonus – log in to Amazon using AmazonSmile and make sure Sunset is your nonprofit organization of choice to get money back!)
Office Depot/Office Max also will donate 5% of your school supply purchase back to Sunset Primary if you mention our school code which is 70084751. The school can use the credit to buy more supplies!
Happy shopping and enjoy the last month of summer break!!
West Linn Primary School PTAs/PTSOs are co-sponsoring a showing of Screenagers THIS THURSDAY 6/7 at 6pm at Trillium Creek Primary School. Trillium Creek PTSO is providing free childcare for the younger kids but we encourage older kids to view with their parents. This is especially timely with summer approaching (more requests for “screen time”) and our 5th graders moving up to middle school in the fall.
See below and watch this website and our FB page for more info ASAP!
You can now order Sunset Spiritwear online! See flier below. Link is located under “Helpful Links” if you scroll down the page.
Pizza Bing is Friday the 13th! We will be accepting pre-pays until Thurs April 12th. This info below went home last week but if case you need another copy- see the attached flier for details! Wear your wacky hair and outfit!!
Congratulations to all of our student performers last week in Alice Inside Out in Wonderland!
In case you didn’t see it, there were some great pics in the WL Tidings from rehearsals last week:
Tickets will be sold at the door, current Sunset students get in free (also kids under 5). We will have popcorn & drinks for sale!
Show starts at 5pm, doors open at 4pm.
See you there!
Show a fellow Eagle some Sunset love by “beaking” them! This ongoing fundraiser is a great way to show some school spirit!
Here are the details:
1. Pick a student to “beak” and a date.
2. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with the student’s name, address (if possible), date, and how you are going to pay the suggested donation of $20 (cash, check payable to Sunset PTSO, or Venmo @Sunset-PTSO).
3. The Beaking Committee will place signs, under cover of night, the night before the desired date, ready to surprise the student in the morning when they discover they’ve been “beaked!”
4. The Beak-ee will enjoy their signs (and take pics to share on our FB group if desired!) for 1-2 days at which point they are removed by the Beaking Committee.
Get your Beak on and email email@example.com today!!
Family Breakfast is a longstanding tradition at Sunset Primary! We’ll have lots of tables and chairs in the gym for families and friends to share a meal together. Doors open at 6:30 am and we will be finishing up in time for school to start on time, so allow yourself time to eat and visit!
You can pre-pay with the attached flier (will also go home in backpacks this week) or pay at the door. Entry will be through the front door of the school and the meal will be in the gym. Our awesome Sunset teachers will running the food service line alongside our caterer, Two Girls Catering! Yummy french toast, eggs, sausage, fruit, coffee and drinks.
We will have a craft facilitated by parents and staff for anyone who finishes early! Look out also for the SignUp Genius email from our Volunteer Coordinator – we need your help with set-up/clean-up and a few other jobs.
See you there! Questions? Email Stacey (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Sarah (email@example.com)
